Current Projects

Winter School

ACCARE is currently working on establishing a Winter School as we see it as an excellent resource for the progression of Indigenous research.  For further information in relation to this project please contact Associate Professor Roz Walker rozw@ichr.uwa.edu.au

Plaque in Celebration of Aboriginal People

ACCARE is in the process of creating a plaque with the assistance of the Aboriginal youth of Western Australia to recognise and celebrate the Aboriginal and Torrest Strait Islander people of Australia and to highlight the research undertaken at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research in Aboriginal Health.

Childhood Wellbeing Forum

We wish to establish a Chilhood Wellbeing Forum.  A forum that would involve stakeholders and people from the community and would become a roundtable of community with children as the focus.  For children and the benefit of children; it would be a place where we would encourage independent observers to come in and talk about the children.

It was considered necessary to hold the forum every 1 - 2 years and is a matter of critical importance as it will help launch new findings in research.

It can be difficult to bring about an international forum that we can be proud of and has some meaning so we are currently seeking comments, information and feedback on how we might go about establishng a Childhood Wellbeing Forum and what topics should be covered.

This is an exciting project and one we look forward to keeping you up to date on as we make progress.
